Knitting: Vest
Simple in shape, this two-coloured vest begins with a corrugated rib for interest and texture. The complex looking front and back 16 row repeat pattern is easily achieved with stocking stitch and slip stitch. Like a stained glass effect, the black slipped stitches edge and outline each honeycomb ‘window’. This vest features a scoop neckline for...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The Cosmic Wrap is a vortex shape where rows are straight as worked, but they drape diagonally when worn. Knitted in 4 ply sock yarn, the bands of single and double bobbles and lace create textural bands that mimic the meteorites and mysteries of our universe, accentuated by a picot bind off. The Cosmic Wrap is ethereal in weight, but deceivabl...
Knitting: Throw
This mitred square throw is like a memory quilt as it was made using leftovers of sock yarn, 4 ply wool and small bundles of my drop spindled merino.
Knitting: Pullover
This modular two toned cotton sweater has 3/4 length fold up sleeves, hart motifs on the front and sleeves, a rolled collar for easy fit and a tabard style hemline which is longer at the back. Knitted in pure cotton, it is ideal for seasonal weather changes.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I used Bendigo pure wool in the samples. Bendigo Classic 8 ply pure wool. These hand warmers take less than 100g of 8 ply to make. If you choose a variegated colour, omit the cables and knit in stocking stitch, which will also make the handwarmers slightly larger.
Knitting: Animal Toy
I designed Foxadolly due to demand from people loving my Yarnosaurus creatures, but requesting a fox. I could not keep up with the knitting demands, so have made my Foxadolly pattern available for you.
Knitting: Doll
I designed my Hugadolly range to provide unique gifts for special people who may need a bit of extra love at a particular time. A gift of flowers seems finite. That is why a smiling little friend who can accompany you to places, sit in your car or on your bed to remind you that someone out there loves you, is much better for the soul. Four arms...
Knitting: Doll
My goal was to make a clutch toy for a child to be able to easily hold around the tummy to carry around or take to bed. He is 32cm (12.5”) high.
Knitting: Doll
Although unrelated to the infamous Aussie “Drop Bear”, the Arachnosaurus (Genus Yarnosaurus) shares that creature’s ability to terrorise unwary bushwalkers. With its acute hearing it can detect food on the ground or in backpacks passing beneath its tree habitat and one of his eight legs will reach down to grab something yummy. It is especially ...
Knitting: Doll
Also known by the scientific name of Yarnosaurus Mermaidus, the Splashosaurus population is under threat in the oceans around Australia. Although few sightings have been validated, the Splashosaurus has been known to inhabit rock pools at beaches. To escape from predators, including humans, Splashosaurus’ tone deaf singing works every time. Her...
Knitting: Doll
As a member of the Yarnosaurus species, the Quackosaurus spends her time lazing around the resort areas of Australia, unsuccessfully trying to blend with the “in crowd”. Not built for speed, agility or sports, Quackosaurus prefers to be a spectator, using the spines on her frill to wave off bothersome insects. With her webbed hands and feet,gen...
Knitting: Doll
Belonging to the Genus Yarnosaurus, the Geckosaurus has been recently sighted near dams and waterholes in the Sthn Highlands of N.S.W. Preferring to inhabit native bushland, the Geckosaurus terrorises rabbits by jumping upon them unawares, raising his spikes, waving his claws and hissing at them before collapsing in hysterics.
Crochet: Containers
I designed this ort bag to teach Tunisian crochet by making something useful. Use any of your leftover wool and match the hook accordingly. Try a crochet hook before you buy a Tunisian hook, to see if you like it. This project requires a short number of stitches, therefore a crochet hook length will suffice. eg Use 8 ply wool with a 4mm hook, o...
