I have had this design floating in my head for a number of years. In fact, I have knit it multiple times in my head; but, when I actually knit it using Hole In The Wool yarn, it was a lot more fun. The colors are beautiful, the yarn is soft, and the texture when worked up is sharp.

I love the interruption of this lace pattern with a little seed stitch. I don’t know why it speaks to me, but it does. I also like the subtle color change for the border.

I just love this stitch pattern. I have for a very long time.

I called this shawl Mood Changer, because every time I worked on it, it really did change my mood. I had so much fun just living in the moment and changing stitches when I wanted, and creating new patterns. Either I was changing colors, or changing patterns, so I never got tired of working on this design.

First, I love the name of this yarn company, “Hole In The Wool.” Whew! Now that I got that out of the way, these two colors together, make such a bright and breezy duo.

I love the gradient yarns that come out of Greenwood Fiberworks. They fire my imagination and get me knitting at full speed just to see the next color. Every time a new colorway comes out, all my work stops and my mind goes crazy and I HAVE TO design and knit something new.

I really had a lot of fun with this design. I took apart a stitch, and then put it back together again, in the shawl, piece by piece. I really like the way everything lines up. You get a little lace and then a little texture.

I was simply trying to have a stress-free day, and went into a local gallery and saw an amazing glass plate.

This is a pretty easy shawl to work up. It is a top down in my favorite shape, “crescent.”

I just can’t seem to get enough leaves in my life. I thought maybe if I filled a whole crescent shaped shawl with leaves, then I would get them out of my system. Whoops, I just thought of another design with leaves. Oh well, I tried.

I’ve wanted to use this tulip pattern in a design for ages. I found the tulip pattern in a knitting book entitled, “The Encyclopedia of Knitting” by Lesley Stanfield and Melody Griffiths.

It is strange how patterns pop into your head when you see a yarn or a color way. That is what happened in this instance. There was no struggling, all the numbers came together easily; and, in the designing process, I only ripped out once, and that was just to change the colors around. (I usually rip out things, MULTIPLE times.)

I fell in love with this stitch pattern. After first knitting a sample, I wanted to put it in everything. The pattern is worked on every row, but that is not a problem when working in the round. Plus you get a sharper image of the pattern when you have increases and decreases on almost every row.

The design is worked with two colors instead of one (though you could do it all in one color). You work two rows of one color, then two rows of your second colors. When the body of the shawl is finished, you work the first border in your lighter color, and the last border in the darker color. The result is a nice, soft blending of colors.

The ripple effect of the yarn colors, and the shark tooth edging reminded me of the tide going in and out at the ocean’s edge. This shawl is a simple stockinette at the top to show off the color waves, the lace is added second in a complimentary color. The edging is worked last, knitting it together with the last row of the shawl.

This design began when I started thinking about a baby blanket surrounded by bunnies. Bunnies that had soft tails. I designed this scarf because I wanted to use the decorative lattice stitch. I love this stitch. It looks hard but is really very easy. Of course, I had to add beads. You can add beads to just the ends, like I did; or, add beads for the entire length of the scarf. I had so much fun with this that I designed a beaded clutch using the same stitch.

This is a nice easy cable scarf. I used a worsted weight yarn with a little variegation. It would make a nice scarf for a man. Any worsted weight yarn will work. A lighter color would show off your cables more.

With Valentines Day coming up I thought a little fuzzy heart purse would be cute to knit. I had fun making this. I lined it and put a decorated button for the clasp.

I wanted to design some scarves with beads and came up with these two versions. The first one is done by pre-stringing the beads onto the yarn, and the second is done by using the crochet hook methods. Both methods are fun and both have their benefits. The best part is the finished product just sparkles with beads.

Wanting to create a scarf for a boy that he would enjoy and not want to take off or leave somewhere. I came up with my “Enchanted Dragon.” The face was fun to create, and to add a little texture he has scales going down his back.

Designing shadow knitting can be complex, but knitting shadow knitting is easy. It was fun designing Gregory’s face and then adding the zig zags to his body. His legs I just picked up stitches and knit out. Throw in a few increases and decreases and you have legs for your Gecko.
