Six Shades of Gray
The trend these days seems to be gradient colors. When I came across these six beautiful, gray colors from Marianated Yarns, I fell in love.
I knew I wanted all six colors, but wouldn’t need a whole skein of each color to complete my design. Marianated Yarns offered to sell me half skeins of each color.
Then all I needed was a pop-of-color and in came the pink. Because the grays make such a lovely backdrop, you can easily substitute and use your favorite color for your pop-of-color.
Marianated Yarns now offers half skeins of the grays as a kit for this design on her website. Marianated Yarns
The Yarn Colors I used:
Color 1: Morning Mist
Color 2: Drizzly Day
Color 3: Steady Rain
Color 4: Torrential Downpour
Color 5: Build an Ark
Color 6: Not Quite Black
Color 7: Molly
Sample made with Marianated Yarns, Scrumptious, Fingering Weight
Six shades of gray, 50 gram skeins, 215 yds per skein; with 1 skein of Scrumptious in Molly (pink), 435 yds, I only used 100 yds of the skein.
The shawl is worked from the bottom up and starts with a ribbed scalloped edge and ends with an eyelet edge. You can wear the shawl any way you want; but, the scalloped edge does make a nice collar.
The lace stitch is a simple but striking design and the color change keeps you excited about the project.
