Construction
The seamless cardigan is worked from the top down, back and forth in rows. Increases are worked to shape the front neckline, while raglan increases form the shoulder/yoke section. As soon as the yoke depth is reached, the stitches for the sleeves are put on hold and the body is worked straight to the ribbed hem without shaping. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down to the cuff . For the ribbed button band, stitches are picked up along the front opening. The 2-color pattern is a mixture of basic stitch patterns - stockinette stitch, garter stitch and slip stitches - and is worked over the entire cardigan. The raglan “seam” is accentuated with slip stitches along the increase lines.
