Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This pattern incudes two knit washcloths ( one in 10 ply and one with two strands of 8 ply held double ) .

Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Named for the geranium flowers in Henry Lawson’s short story Water them Geraniums this beanie can be knitted in a fitted or slouchy way .

Knitting: Vest
This is a knitting pattern for a cotton baby’s vest to suit a newborn baby . It can be worn with a nappy on hot days or over a onesie as the weather cools . The design was suggested by my daughter Alexandra when she gave birth to Archie in January .

Crochet: Market bag (slouchy)
I’ve enjoyed crocheting market bags for ten years . This is my latest design - a very sturdy bag which is suitable for shopping or as a tote when you are out and about .

Knitting: Pullover
This is a pattern for a long , short sleeve jumper for babies and toddlers . It’s knitted seamlessly up to the armholes then backwards and forwards until the shoulders are joined for a three needle bind off .

Knitting: Pixie Hat
I knitted this pixie to fit a four year old but it would fit a range of children as it has positive ease .

Continuing my set of patterns named after my paternal grandmother , this cabled hat pattern includes some matching cabled fingerless mittens . The pussy hat is knitted with a stretchy ribbed band and then the cables begin so you’ll need a cable needle too . It is seamed and the mittens are too . They fit a 7 inch hand ( 17.8 cm ) .

Designed to mirror the colours of the backyard chooks ( chickens ) I was a child , this is a crocheted beanie that only uses about 50 g of the main colour and about 25 g of each of the other 4 colours .

This is a pattern for a hat knitted in garter stitch on circular needles . It’s my first knitted beanie pattern for adults . It’s beautifully warm to wear because it’s over 50 % alpaca and has just the right amount of slouch . There is no seaming .

Crocheted loosely on a large hook , this Super Market Bag becomes a traditional string bag when it stretches on its first use . Gauge is not important but as I crochet loosely , you may need to go up a size in the hooks . The pattern uses less than one ball of Lily Sugar n Cream 113 g yarn .

This hand knitted lavender sachet cover is ideal as a small gift with some essential oil , a washcloth and some handmade soap . Add an eye pillow and you have the perfect present .

Modelled on a dishcloth I knitted in Mrs Clinton’s class back in the sixties , I designed this one by holding two thrifted yarns together . The extra chunkiness combined with the loose tension makes it a great dishcloth or counter wipe . The holes ensure that it dries fresh and the cotton used can be machine washed in hot water for hygiene .

I designed this child size Pussyhat in DK as I could not find one . I needed it for a gift for a grandchild to accompany the picture book by Australian author , Andrew Joyner who explores the journey of one of the pink pussyhats destined for the a Women’s March in Washington DC in January 2017 . Pinky now has her very own hat .

One of my pet hates is the use of disposable cutlery and disposable plastic straws . I’ve designed this pouch so that you can carry your metal knife , fork , spoon , straw and a cloth napkin to work or picnics and help avoid plastic .

Crochet: Cowl
Designed for my best friend Val , this alpaca cowl is easy enough for a beginner to make . Being made with alpaca it is light and warm without being bulky . You can wear it looped around once or twice as it is joined by a seam . This makes construction easy as it is worked flat in one piece .

The Aussie Cossie Cover Up crochet pattern is a downloadable crochet pattern for a sleeveless top made with Bendigo Woollen Mills 10 ply cotton . As there are no armholes ( just slits ) it expands around this area of the chest to fit different sizes .

The Maggie Ann Cowl is a tribute to my great grandmother who taught my mother to crochet . Without her I would not have learnt to crochet from my mother .

The Ivy Scarf is named after a special Aunty called Ivy whom I grew up with . It is crocheted in beautiful Cleckheaton Superfine Merino which is so soft but drapes beautifully due to the weight . I’ve used a discontinued colour but there are so many other beautiful colours to choose from including Marmalade .

The beautiful alpaca yarn used in this vest is ideal for toddlers . It is warm , light and great for children who find wool itchy on their skin or through other garments .

I designed this scarf for teenagers and adults after I’d designed the two for children . You’ll need two different shades of green for the “avocado” and one cream shade for the “feta” .

This is a simple crocheted scarf made with three strands of 4 ply held together . A multi coloured pom pom is added at each end for a fun accessory for children to wear in winter . Beginner crocheters could easily make this as it requires knowledge of chains and double crocheted only . UK terms are used .

Using six 100 g balls of beautiful Adagio Mills 12 ply Alpaca in Stormy Grey, this poncho is quick to crochet . However, this pattern is only suitable for this alpaca yarn .

Crochet: Scarf
This is an intermediate pattern for a crocheter who wants to make a long scarf in a chunky / bulky yarn . You need to know how to chain , double crochet and treble . The pattern repeats easily so the scarf will be finished quickly .

I designed this neck warmer as a small cowl which you can wear with the TigsTogs Beanie. I’ve name it after my Mum , Audrey as she taught me to crochet . It was her paternal grandmother who had taught her.
