The Upstairs Hat uses mini skeins and a simple stranded colourwork motif to bring colour and warmth to your upstairs. With no long floats and only two colours in use at a time, this pattern would be a good choice for those newer to colourwork.
Finished with a simple I-cord, the hat can be completely reversible!

Worked from a provisional cast-on, this hat is a fine way to practice stranded colourwork because all the stitches are knit in the round and it has no floats longer than two stitches.

Upstairs hat uses 2 50g skeins of Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok for the main colour, plus 6 Woolstok Mini Hanks at 5g (12y/10m) each. Note that nearly all of the mini hank skeins are used.

This hat was developed for Shall We Knit? in Kitchener-Waterloo as one of their “Naughty or Nice?” kits for Advent 2022, with a goal to creating some seasonal treats that would make a smaller demand on our holiday time and budgets. Yarn support was generously provided by SWK.
