» Upland (noun): The higher ground of a region or district; an elevated region.

The Upland hat is worked from the brim to the top, with a subtle ridge pattern along the length of the hat.
It is suitable for men as well as women, and is given in a range of sizes from baby to adult.

The pattern gives a table for stitch counts and measurements per size. You then fill in the numbers and measurements that refer to your chosen size throughout the pattern.

It can be worked using circular needles, either for magic loop or on shorter ones, or using DPN’s - just what you prefer.

Yarn: Madelinetosh Pashmina (75% Merino, 15% Silk, 10% Cashmere; 360 yards per 100g), 1 skein.

Needles: 3 mm / US 2.5 circulars (40 cm / 80 cm (for magic loop method)) or DPN’s, depending on your preferred method.

Other: 7 stitch markers, a darning needle, a piece of waste yarn if you are working a folded hem instead of ribbing (optional).

Gauge: 22 sts & 32 rows on 10 cm / 4 inches in stockinette stitch in the round, washed and blocked.

Size: Ranging from size newborn to adult XL. Please see sizing table in the last pattern photo for exact sizes and measurements.
If you want to have a more snug fit, make the smaller size for your wanted size; the bigger size will give you a more slouchy and looser fit.
