Toy Parrot – with pirate accessories
Knit your own parrot! Do one to copy nature or make him up in all sorts of colours.
Then if you like, turn him (or her) into a pirate (why should parrots not have a go at piracy themselves?), by adding a set of “pirate accessories”. Pattern given for an eye patch, a spotty headscarf, cutlass and belt, some pieces of eight (silver doubloons in case you were wondering), a “Jolly Roger” flag, and a “black spot” to give to an enemy!
They each take small amounts of different coloured yarn totaling about 50 gms and you can knit one up in a few hours.
Mine are an Australian rainbow lorrikeet (sort of), and a piratical imaginary parrot (that owes a fair bit of inspiration to a maccaw).
