Thunder Moon
Thunder Moon is a crescent shawl that is worked from the bottom up. The lace border features a zig zag “lightning” motif. The body of the shawl is worked in garter stitch and uses short rows to create the crescent shape.
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions.
Materials
400 yards (366 m) fingering weight yarn. Sample shown in Fiber Optic Footnotes, Smokey Teal.
Needles
US 6 (4 mm), 32 in or longer circular needles
US 4 (3.5 mm), 32 in or longer circular needles
Notions
stitch markers (if desired), yarn needle
Finished Size
44 in (112 cm) wide x 12 in (30.5 cm) deep.
Skills Needed
basic knitting skills, knit 2 together, yarn over, slip slip knit.
