Wolf Moon
January is the month of the Wolf Moon. This shawl is perfect for wrapping up to protect you from January’s cruel, cold weather.
It is worked in one piece from the bottom edge. The lace is followed by short rows in garter stitch to give the shawl its crescent shape.
Please note that while Quince & Co. Osprey is listed as an aran weight, most test knitters used a chunky/bulky weight yarn.
Materials
450 yards (411 m) aran weight yarn. Shown in Quince & Co. Osprey (100% American wool; 170 yds 115 m/100 g). Sample shown in Lupine.
Needles
US 10.5 (6.5 mm), 32 inch or longer circular needles, or size needed to achieve gauge.
Notions
stitch markers (if desired), yarn needle.
Finished Size
51.5 in (131 cm) wide x 12 in (30.5 cm) deep.
Skills Needed
basic knitting skills, yarn over, knit 2 together, slip slip knit, knit 2 together through back loop, centered double decrease.
