For the TANi cardigan my goal was a timeless and basic little cardi that you can wear all year long. I particularly care for a good shoulder fit, roomy armholes and sleeves (so I can put anything underneath) and all the detailed finishing touches.

For pattern questions you get help in my knitting support here

The TANi cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. Start working the back to the width of the shoulders. Then pick up stitches for the shoulder to work both fronts symmetrically before all pieces are then joined to work the sleeves and body to the length of the armhole. Work the body down to the bottom ribbing. Pick up the sleeve sts to work the sleeves in the round top down, then work the applied button band and finish the neckline.

The Pink sample is made out of Queensland collection united (color 35) held together with Rowan kidsilk haze vintage (color 001)
The Yellow sample is made out of Stine fine wool dk from ‘the little grey sheep, color: little miss sunshine

Details:

SIZES
1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8, 9)
Finished bust circumference in cm/inch:
104 (112, 118, 124, 130)(138, 144, 154, 162) cm / 41 (44, 46½, 48¾, 51¼)(54¼, 56¾, 60½, 63¾)“
The garment is intended to be worn with approx. 29 cm (11½”) of positive ease for smaller sizes and narrow bodies and gradually less positive ease for larger sizes and busty girls.

Size guide
To pick your size, measure your full bust, then add your desired ease and pick the size closest to that number. Sample: 89 cm (35”) full bust + 29 cm (11½“) ease = 118 cm (46½”) = Size 3

GAUGE
20 sts x 29 rows/rds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in Stockinette st on main needle after blocking.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES
Main needle: 3.25-3.75mm (US3-5) (depending on your knitting tension), at least 80 cm (32”) circulars and DPN’s for the sleeves
Smaller needle: 3-3.5mm (US3-4), at least 80 cm (32”) circulars and DPN’s for the sleeves

SUGGESTED YARN
Two yarns are held together throughout:
Yarn 1 - 4 (4, 4, 4, 5)(5, 6, 6, 6) skeins of Lotus yarns, Brushed cashmerino (82% wool, 18% cashmere), 290m (318yds)/50g, Color: 03
Held together with:
Yarn 2 - 3 (3, 3, 3, 3)(4, 4, 4, 4) cones of ITO, Kinu (100% silk), 425m (465yds)/50g, Color: 350
Or m/yds: 890/970 (980/1070, 1070/1170, 1150/1260, 1260/1380)(1360/1490, 1470/1610, 1580/1730, 1700/1860) each of comparable yarns.

Yarn recommendation:
A lightweight and airy wool is recommended. Like a lightweight wool + a mohair silk, or any brushed alpaca/silk blend yarns you get gauge with.
