FLOWERiNG STONE Tee
My goal for the FLOWERiNG STONE tee was to combine a well fitted t-shirt and a colorwork sweater. And to use my mohair left overs of course! The main yarn is a cotton/wool blend that it nice to wear next to the skin and the colorwork fluff makes it so cozy!
The pattern comes with short sleeves and the long sleeve option
The long sleeve version is made from Queensland united, color: denim and mohair leftovers

The FLOWERiNG STONE tee is worked seamlessly from the top down. Start working in the round and shape the neck with short rows. Then work combined increases for the yoke, while doing some colorwork before separating for the sleeves. The body is then worked down to the colorwork and bottom ribbing. The sleeve sts are picked up to work the sleeves, short or long, in the round top down.

If you use mohair/silk leftovers or any other fluffy yarn with less yardage or mix various qualities I recommend swatching the yarn held double.
And in case you like to know more about my inspiration for the FLOWERiNG STONE it’s this part of the poem from Paul Celan:
‘It is time that the stone took the trouble to bloom,
that unrest’s heart started to beat.
It’s time for it to be time.
It is time.’
(translated from German by Pierre Joris)
I love the rhythm and the mood of the poem. For me it has a spirit of optimism. For all that.
This is the original:
‘Es ist Zeit, daß der Stein sich zu blühen bequemt,
daß der Unrast ein Herz schlägt.
Es ist Zeit, daß es Zeit wird.
Es ist Zeit.’
