Sweet Sock
This pattern was the very first pattern designed for the very first Knit Cafe Yarn Club in 2016. It is and also is not your basic sock recipe. It is knit with traditional techniques from the top down with no fancy stitch patterns, no cables, nor lace. It is appropriate for new sock knitters as the instructions are detailed with several diagrams and lots of helpful hints. Already this goes beyond basic, but there is more to differentiate this sock pattern from others.
The first is the colour. The colour accents at the toe are bound to inspire fast knitting as they egg you on towards the finish. The ribbed calf and foot make the fit excellent and looks very becoming on the foot. The heel flap stitches are made extra strong with a reinforced slip stitch technique that is a little different from the norm. This one has a wonderful and subtle honey comb texture that looks amazing in The Knit Café Yarn Club’s custom colour from Julie Asselin called “Honey Bunny”. Perhaps the best news is that this sock pattern can be knit in many different sizes ranging from toddler to large men’s sizes.
To fit US shoe size: toddler size 7-10 (toddler size 10.5- child size 2, child size 2.5-women’s size 5, women’s size 5.5-8.5, women’s 9-11.5 or men’s 8-10, men’s 10.5-14)
Sample shown is women’s medium with 24cm calf length.
