Starry Tam
A knitting pattern for a stranded colourwork slouchy tam / beret, worked in the round. This is a charted pattern for 4 ply fingering wool, with a single background colour and 4 contrast colours.
The tam shape is encouraged by a knitted “fold” which also makes blocking easier.
Two sizes, achieved by using different sized needles.
Skill level – intermediate (not for beginners); some stranded colourwork experience is helpful.
Sizes to fit head circumference 55cm/21.5” and 60cm/23.5”
Materials: fingering / 4 ply yarn – 80% -100% wool is recommended
Approx amounts in metres/yards:
main colour – MC: size 1 : 2 - 185/200 :190/210
