This skinny scarf features a cable running through the middle of a background of garter stitch and easy I-cord edging.

It is best worked in fingering, sport, DK, or worsted weight yarn. The weight of the yarn will determine the width.

After the initial increases to get the width of the scarf and establish the cable, the scarf can be worked as long or as short as desired before the final decreases.

It’s a good first project to learn I-cord, increases (knit front back), decreases (knit 2 together), and a 4-stitch cable.

No gauge is necessary, just select the needle that you usually work with the selected yarn weight.

It will look wrinkly until washed. Once washed, lay flat to dry. This will help to smooth out the cable and garter background.

Scarf in the photo was worked with sport weight yarn on US 5 needles, 26 sts, and is 3.25” wide.
Have fun!
