Shaped Triangle
Skill Level: Intermediate
Finished Measurements:
- 40” - center back neck to tip
- 82” - long edge of triangle
- 57” - each short edge of triangle
Yarn: Jagger Spun Zephyr (4oz/115g; 1175yds/1070m; 50% wool/50% silk) Garnet
Needles:
- Size 4 (3.5mm) circular needle, 24”/40cm, or size to obtain gauge
- Optional: One double-pointed needle (dpn), size 4 (3.5m), for edging
Extras:
- Stitch marker
- Rust-proof T-pins
Blocked Gauge: 5 sts to 1”/2.5cm in Shawl chart pat using size 4 (3.5mm). It is difficult to state an exact gauge for knitting lace. the actual finished size is determined by how vigorously the wet lace is pinned and stretched. We find that lace stretches about one-third larger than the finished knitting.
Construction Notes: “this shawl is knit from the center back neck outwards. shoulder shaping is incorporated in the first 108 rows of this shawl by yo’s which do not have corresponding dec’s. As the knitting progresses, note that on some rows the number of sts in the shawl increased by 4 and on other by 8.
Notes:
- Only odd rows are shown on chart. All even rows K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2.
- Work the 6-st reps on rows 13-16 and the section C reps on rows 109-188 as needed.
