Up North Christmas Stockings
Traditional Christmas stocking designs are perfect for a classic “Up North” holiday. An alphabet chart for personalizing the stockings is included. Knitter’s choice to start with a corrugated rib cuff or Latvian Braid - instructions are given for both styles. These stockings are knit at a firm gauge to help them maintain their shape and, of course, to the “goodies” won’t fall out!
Yarn: Any yarn that knits at 6sts/in. Light worsted was used for the samples. You’ll need 220 yards of each color. If your gauge is looser than 6 sts/in, you’ll need extra yarn for the heel and toe color.
A smaller stocking can be made with sport weight yarn.
Needles: 16” long size 4US circular needle and a set of double points in the same size. Also, a 16” long size 2US circular needle.
Size: 25” tall (toe to top) and 8” wide (16” circumference)
