This rectangular stitch sampler is a twist on the traditional granny square pattern. It makes a great stroller or comfort blanket for a baby or small child.
The project uses different stitch patterns (a granny rectangle, an alternating v-stitch, staggered puff stitches, and an edging) to keep things interesting. I’ve rated the pattern intermediate, not because it is difficult to make, but because it really helps if the crocheter is able to “read” her/his stitches when switching between the different patterns.
The Rectangular Sampler Blanket was designed to create blankets for Project Night Night , the featured charity for Crochetville’s A Tour Through Crochet Country blog tour for National Crochet Month 2013. Please consider donating one of your blanket projects to Project Night Night or a local children’s charity.
