I love the pineapple motif. During the holiday season, I like to make customized versions of the same design for several people on my gift list. It makes it easier for me to remember the pattern but I can also create something special and unique for everyone.

And, of course, you can crochet Pineapples for Everyone throughout the year! By changing the length and the yarn weight (the design works equally well in a lightweight or bulky yarn instead of worsted weight), you can turn this recipe into a great shawl for any season.

For the sample, I used Inca Eco, an eco-friendly thick and thin yarn to add some texture while making a great gift for an environmentally conscious friend. (Hint: If you’re worried about your pineapples, the texture of a thick and thin yarn will hide any irregularities!)

Finished Size
Adjustable. Lavender shawlette in the photos is 45″ (114 cm) x 24″ (61 cm).

Materials
Yarn requirements vary. Lavender shawlette used Galler Yarns Inca Eco (100% organic cotton, 3.5 oz/100g/140 yd/128 m) - 3 skeins in Lavender or approximately 420 yds (384 m) in any medium weight yarn.

J/10 (6.00 mm) crochet hook, or any size to get appropriate tension for your yarn choice.

Yarn needle.

Stitch marker or scrap yarn (optional).

Gauge
5 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in pattern. Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
