Perikon Sweater
The sweater is knit top down in the round with a narrow neck band that goes straight into the cables on the yoke. After the yoke the last increases are done by raglan shaping and then the rest of the sweater is easy stockinette with wide ribbed hems on both sleeves and body.
The Perikon sweater is named after the medicinal plant known as st john’s wort (Perikon in Danish) because of the leaf-like textured yoke design.
The yarn used creates a soft and cloudlike fabric but the Perikon Sweater can be worked up in other yarns. I recommend plump yarn types like unspun, blow or woollen spun for a similar effect to the sample. If using an unspun yarn i recommend holding it double with silk mohair for a stronger yarn and an added softness.
