“Neverìn” (“wind storm with rain” in the dialect spoken in Trieste) is a short oversized top down sweater.
To make this sweater, start with the twisted rib strips that run down the sleeves. Then, the stitches along the sides of the two strips are picked up; at the same time the stitches for the neckline are cast on. All of these stitches together are used to form the front.
The front and the back of the sweater are shaped with short rows. Once this step has been completed, the stitches are set aside and the back is knit in the same way.
The garment is joined in the round and the sweater is continued knitting top down to the desired length. The sweater is finished with a twisted rib stitch border.
The stitches along the armholes are picked up and the sleeves are knit, evenly distributing the decreases; the sleeves are also completed with a twisted rib border.

Sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) to fit bust size 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm – 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50) in.
Shown in size M with bust size 98 cm – 38 ½ in and with 23 cm – 9 in of positive ease.

Finished measurements:
Bust circumference: 97 (111, 121, 135, 146, 160) cm – 38 ¼ (43 ¾, 47 ¾, 53 ¼, 57 ½, 63) in.
Length from underarm: 27 (30, 30, 34, 34, 37) cm – 10 ¾ (12, 12, 13 ¼, 13 ¼, 14 ¾) in.
Sleeves length: 44 (45, 45, 47, 47, 48) cm – 17 ¼ (17 ¾, 17 ¾, 18 ½, 18 ½, 18 ¾) in from underarm.

Gauge:
24 sts and 34 rounds = 10 cm – 4 in in st st (worked in the round and after blocking).

Yarn and Needles:
YARNWAY Merino Sock (Sock weight yarn; 100% Superwash Merino: 400 m – 437 yds / 100 gr – 3.53 oz. skein): 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4) skeins (970 1110, 1200, 1350, 1450, 1600 m – 1061 1214, 1313, 1477, 1586, 1750 yds).
Circular needles:
size 3 mm – US 2 ½ with a 40 cm – 16 in and an 80 cm – 32 in cable.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Other:
2 stitch markers.
Scrap yarn.
Tapestry needle and scissors.
Pins and a tape measure for blocking.

“Neverìn” (in dialetto triestino “vento improvviso con pioggia”) è un maglione lavorato dall’alto verso il basso.
Si incomincia dagli inserti a coste ritorte posizionati sulle spalle. Successivamente sui lati lunghi delle due strisce vengono riprese delle maglie; nello stesso momento, verranno montate a nuovo le maglie per lo scollo. La somma di tutte queste maglie andrà a formare il davanti. Si modellerà la maglia con una serie di ferri accorciati e alla fine di questo passaggio i punti verranno lasciati in sospeso. Si procederà allo stesso modo per il dietro.
Quindi si unirà il lavoro in tondo, e si continuerà a lavorare a maglia rasata dall’alto verso il basso. Si terminerà con un bordo a coste ritorte.
Si riprenderanno le maglie lungo gli scalfi e si lavoreranno le maniche, distribuendo le diminuzioni. Le maniche saranno completate da un bordo a coste ritorte.

Taglie:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) vestono un giro seno di 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm.
Le foto si riferiscono alla taglia M indossata da una modella con un giro seno di 98 cm e con un agio di 23 cm.

Misure finite:
Circonferenza del seno: 97 (111, 121, 135, 146, 160) cm.
Lunghezza dallo scalfo: 27 (30, 30, 34, 34, 37) cm.
Lunghezza dalle maniche: 44 (45, 45, 47, 47, 48) cm dallo scalfo.

24 m x 34 giri = 10 cm lavorati a maglia rasata (in tondo e dopo il bloccaggio).

Ferri circolari numero 3 mm con cavo da 40 cm e 80 cm.
Se necessario modificare il numero dei ferri per ottenere il campione corretto.
