The My Crochet Kitchen: Pasta Dishes set was designed not only to look amazing, but also to help your little chef learn about a few classic Italian pasta dishes!

I wanted to create a way for kids to go beyond simply ‘chopping’ raw veg – to connect their imaginations with a budding appreciation for flavours, foods and cultures. But they’re also extremely satisfying to make, arrange and play with as ‘older chefs’!

This pasta dish is all about ravioli. Other dishes in the set include spaghetti & meatballs; spaghetti alla Puttanesca; linguine gamberi e limone; and tagliatelle all’Alfredo.

I’ve kept the dishes simple and the play pieces relatively large for ease of handling and safety, as well as for your sanity when it comes to tidying up!

You’ll find a basic ‘recipe’ included before the pattern, listing all the necessary ingredients. However, individual items can also be mixed and matched at will.

Some ingredients are crocheted in continuous rounds, while others are worked flat in rows. Instructions for each element will let you know which construction method you’ll use, and the photo guide will help to demonstrate this.

I used Hobbii Yarn’s Rainbow Bamboo for its beautiful vintage shades and silky soft finish in the following colours:
green tea (15)
ginger (21)
bronze (30)
dusty pine (38)
primula yellow (19)

Feel free to use any alternative light DK weight in the shades listed above if you’d prefer, but I highly recommend their Rainbow Bamboo for the sheen, shades and softness of the yarn.
