Mini Sullivan the Stegosaurus
Meet Mini Sullivan the Stegosaurus (or Sully, for short). Dinosaurs came in all shapes and sizes, and this little guy is one of the smallest around.
Sullivan can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.
I’ve made samples in two different sizes. The worsted weight version is made using a 4.0 mm (G) hook and Knit Picks Brava Worsted in 3 colors. The DK weight version is made using 2.25 mm (B) hook and Paintbox Yarn Cotton DK in 3 colors. You only need a small amount of each color; perfect for using up scraps!
Sample 1 (Worsted weight)
- Color 1: Cornflower (35 yards)
- Color 2: Marina (less than 10 yards)
- Color 3: White (less than 5 yards)
Sample 2 (DK weight)
- Color 1: Washed Teal (25 yards)
- Color 2: Dolphin Blue (5 yards)
- Color 3: Paper White (less than 5 yards)
Mini Sullivan the Stegosaurus is an advanced beginner-level pattern. Skills you will need include single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, slip stitches, increases, decreases, bobble stitches, some seaming, and crocheting in the front loops of a finished piece.
The pattern is 6-pages long and has plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making your own rather small stegosaurus.
