Designed for the runner or sports enthusiast, these short-cuff socks proudly display a cable-knit runner dashing forwards on your ankle, peeking just over the tops of your sneakers. The motif continues around the sock with racing stripes of lace to keep you inspired and moving forwards. Treat your active feet to some custom made sock comfort, or knit up a pair as a quick gift for the athletics enthusiast in your life! Sock design is cuff down with a short row heel and grafted toe, with decreases placed for smoothest possible texture on those sensitive toes. Given the combination of cables and lace, I consider this an advanced design.

Materials:

* Yarn: Aprx 75 grams sock weight yarn in a fiber that is soft and wicks moisture well. Recommended fibers: wool, bamboo, tencel, soy, polypropylene.
  Socks shown in MonkeyToes Sock Yarn (100% merino), Golden Spots, Crazy Monkey Creations, 100 grams (apx. 490 yd). 1 skein = 2-3 socks.
* Needles: 5- 2mm (US0) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
  Gauge: 10 stitches per inch, 15 rows per inch in stockinette.

Sizes (circumference of sock):

* Small - 6.8 inches
* Medium - 8 in
* Large - 9.2 in

In-between sizes are possible by adding 2 or 4 stitches to each side of the runner motif. Example given in pattern for 7.2 inch sock.
