Lily Shawl
The shawl is knit from the center point out. Increases occur between each band to shape the shawl. The shawl consists of bee and floral motifs. It is finished with a simple chained crochet edging.
Inspired by Lily Owens, the heroine of The Secret Life of Bees, this shawl features small and large bee motifs, as well as an overall lace pattern that mimics the shape of a large sunflower. It is knit with 2 coordinating colorways – one for the center of the flower and one for the final border of petals.
The shawl uses 2 colors of a fingering weight yarn. The sample used 350 yards of Color A and 365 yards of Color B.
Suggested skills: Basic chart-reading skills, knowledge of working in the round, lace increase/decrease techniques.
This shawl is available as a standalone pattern, but is also available as part of the year-long Heroines Shawl Club 2016 ebook as well.
