This triangular-shaped shawl is knit from the center back neck down to the bottom hem. It is shaped with the use of YO’s to create this very wearable shape. The shawl features two complementary leaf lace motifs and is finished with a simple matching lace border. Note that the lace patterns are presented in chart form ONLY.

Suggested skills: Knit/purl, increases (YO), decrease (SSK, K2tog), and basic triangular shawl shaping techniques.

Inspired by Jo March, the heroine of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, this shawl is named after Alcott’s family home in Massachusetts, Orchard House. This shawl is part of a larger year-long collection of shawls inspired by literary heroines and available as an ebook here on Ravelry.
