This knitted Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is seated on a regal cushion and dressed in their royal crown, robe and orb.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). This knitting pattern incorporates intarsia colour-work to make the white flash on the head, picking up stitches along an edge, knitting loops, and knitting i-cord using two DPNs.

NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.25mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 3).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.


NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, buttons and sequins to decorate, ribbons for the cushion and robe, bobbins and a tape measure.

SIZES
One size only - Spaniel in crown is 22cm tall (seated), cushion is 19cm x 16.5cm, and the orb 6cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For intermediate knitters and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
