Key to the Tree Blanket
In the tale of the Old Woman in the Woods, a servant girl is the last survivor of a traveling party after robbers ambush them. In despair the girl wanders the woods, unable to care for herself. A little white dove comes to her aid with a key to a tree that provides her with all she needs. In return the dove asks her to steal a ring from an old woman in a cabin. When she brings the ring back to the tree, the woods transforms into a prince and his retinue who had been enchanted by the old woman. Thus the prince (the dove) saves the girl and the girl saves the prince. And they go to his kingdom and live happily ever after.
Hopefully this comfort blanket with it’s motifs of birds and leaves will be just the perfect blankie for a little one in your life. Knit from the center out, this blanket uses a center cast-on invented by me. There is a video on my YouTube channel if you need more help.
