Explore knitted lace the easy way!

Knitted lace is worked every row / round, and creates lacier projects. It’s a beautiful technique to know as you can create shallower decrease lines and airy stacks of yarn-overs. It’s waaaay easier to work in the round than flat: You’ll always look at the right side of the work. So! Dip your toe into knitted lace the easy way! :-)

Long leaves and slender stalks stretch toward the sunbeams that sneak through the canopy above. They drape the woodlands in a dense tapestry dotted with white pearls. Peeking out from the shade, the abundant flowers burst with delicate beauty against a backdrop of vibrant and bold greens. The lily of the valley fills the forest air with a sweet fragrance; its delicate scalloped blossoms seem to chime as they gently sway in the spring breeze.
The Jyli cowl is inspired by the spring woodlands and dense lily of the valley colonies. The cowl horizontally combines two lace patterns, evoking lance-shaped green leaves, clusters of tiny bell-shaped flowers, curving stalks, and round berries. Jyli is a play of contrast, rich in texture and airy yarn overs. Join us on this woodland discovery!

The name of the Jyli cowl derives from the English name lily of the valley and the Latin name of the flower, Convallaria Majalis.

For best effect, use a smooth, round yarn with good stitch definition. Yarn weights ranging from Fingering to Worsted would be suitable. As for colorways, I would recommend solid, semi-solid, or gradient (single skein or gradient set) yarns.
