The Haslock Cowl is a great, beginner-friendly colorwork project. Every motif in the cowl is different, keeping the knitter engaged and giving them lots of practice at different float lengths.
Size 
Height: 7 ¼” / 18.5cm 
Circumference: 23” / 58.5cm
Needles 
US 4 / 3.75mm circular needle, 16” / 40cm length 
Spare US 4 / 3.75mm circular needle, 16” / 40cm length (for grafting the two ends together) 
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Yarn 
Fingering weight yarn in the following amounts: 
200 yds MC, 45 yds CC1, 55 yds CC2, 25 yds CC3, 50yds CC4

Jamieson’s Of Shetland Spindrift (100% Pure Shetland Wool; 105m / 115 yds per 25g ball) 
Sample 1: Natural White (MC), Dove (CC1), Pistachio (CC2), Mimosa (CC3), Mustard (CC4) 
Sample 2: Oxford (MC), Cinnamon (CC1), Gold (CC2), Eucalyptus (CC3), Camel (CC4)
Notions 
1 stitch marker, fingering weight smooth waste yarn for provisional cast on, crochet hook size F / 
3.75mm (if using the Crochet Provisional Cast On method), tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge 
27 sts & 31 rounds = 10cm / 4” over Fair Isle Pattern on US 4 / 3.5mm needles after blocking
