Hardanger
The cardigan is knit in one piece from the bottom to the armholes. The sleeves are knit separately and then joined at the underarms. Work continues in one piece to the collar.
Stitches for the front bands are picked up along the edges, then joined to work in the round. The bands are worked in Fair Isle-style stranded colorwork, with a steek.
The pattern is inspired by one of the many beautiful patterns in Sjónabók/ Ornaments and Patterns found in Iceland a book on patterns from the 17th, 18th and 19th century in Iceland.
