Flambeau
This 3 color asymmetrical shawl is a member of The Rooted Collection: a collection especially made for the small batch, minimally processed Alpaca yarn from Kismet Fiber Works. Learn more about this yarn at www.kismetfiberworks.com.
Use your favorite fingering or sport weight yarn in 2 or 3 colors to make this intermediate level shawl. Garter, stripes, and lace make it an interesting and fun knit.
Yard needs: Either fingering or sport weight yarn
3 color shawl:
Main Color: 400 yards/366 meters
Lace Contrasting color: 350 yards/320 meters
Stripes Contrasting Color: 50 yards/46 meters
2 color shawl:
Main Color: 400 yards/366 meters
Contrasting Color: 400 yards/366 meters
The shawl can be worn as a scarf, shawl, or wrapped bunches and bunches of times for a close squishy neck piece. Sport weight is the recommended weight from the original prototype. A fingering weight natural fiber that will block well will make a nice sized shawl, as well.
Light blocking is recommended as the lace will need to be opened a bit, but not too aggressively as to squash the garter ridges.
