The Dufa Blanket is designed for one of my nephews while he was still carried under his mother’s heart. The mother (my sister) loves the sea and waves, and that became the inspiration for the wave pattern that is prominent in the blanket, both in the center and echoed in the edge.

The name Dufa comes from the Norse mythology, where Dufa is one of the nine daughters of Ran and Ægir. All nine had names meaning “wave”, so Dufa is one of the types of waves that the vikings recognized. This is also the reason that there are 9 different colours as yet another nod to the tale.

Size: approx. 90 cm x 120 cm.

Yarn requirements: 500 g of Pernilla from Filcolana - 50 g each in the 9 colours and 50 g extra of the colour, you choose to work the edge in.

The pattern for the mosaic knitted wave is charted.
