Riversong

I twist and turn and then meander,
I rush and ripple and then wander.
From slate to clay to sand and gravel,
my color shows you where I’ve travelled.
As waters join, mingle and grow,
they tell a tale of where I go!

V041315 and before. The 4th and final set up row for the center sections is missing a ‘slip same stitches as on previous RS row’. It should correctly read:

Confluence is the second installment of Riversong: 2015 Shawl Club

Confluence is a shawl inspired by the joining
of two rivers, coming from opposite directions,
joining and mingling where they meet.
To showcase the difference between two rivers
that might have run over different ground,
rocks and mountains, the colors are inversed,
which conveniently also uses up an even
amount of yarn.
This crescent shaped shawl is worked in separate
pieces, joined and knit together via a
center section, with no picking up of stitches
involved.

Materials
Yarn
Julie Asselin ‘Fino’ (75% Merino,15% Cashmere,
10% Silk, 400 yds/366 m, 115 g/4 oz)
1 skein each in ‘Dapple Grey’ (color A) and ‘Blue
Steel’ (color B)
Or, approx. 600 yds/ 549 m of fingering weight
yarn.

About the yarn: You can find Fino at many of the yarn shops that stock Julie Asselin’s yarn (listed here on her website)

Needles
US Size 6 (4 mm) circular needle, min 32”(80 cm), or size to obtain gauge
US Size 6 (4 mm) circular needle, min 47”(120 cm)
Cable needle

Gauge
24 st and 28 rows = 4” on US 6 (4 mm) needles
over stockinette (blocked)

Notions
2 stitch markers
extra circular cables or waste yarn to set aside
stitches

Finished Size
17”/ 43 cm center back depth,
65 ”/ 165 cm wingspan.
