Blisland socks are worked from the top down in the round. They feature a twisted rib cuff that flows neatly into the small lace panel that runs down the outside edge of the sock. The lace stitches are worked on every alternate round which makes knitting these socks a breeze, as all the rounds in between are knit.
At the heel, the panel is split and the back half disappears into the heel flap while the front half travels down to the toe, which is grafted shut.

These simple mid-calf socks got their name from a little village in Devon that my husband and I would sometime stop by on our way home from a trip to West Cornwall. The name on the signpost - Blisland was enticing, and we discovered a beautiful spot with a local pub serving delicious lunches. We returned many times! The socks are worked from the cuff down in stocking stitch and feature a lace panel on the side of each leg and foot. The heel is worked in Eye of Partridge stitch, a favourite of mine. The toes are decreased either side and grafted closed.
