Velvet SPORTY used to be Merino Sporty 262 is a plump, round, plied, Superwash yarn beautifully soft feels like velvet with that squish factor - it’s quite a “heavy” sport yarn, weighing in at 262m / 100g so a good slightly lighter alternative to normal DK yarns - hand dyed with professional acid dyes, that are light and wash fast. Perfect for shawls, sweaters scarves and luxurious knits.

Works perfectly for a lot of the US patterns - sportweight is favoured by Caitlin Hunter, Andrea Mowry etc.
