This is an elegant yarn made with 80% baby alpaca (baby alpaca is super-soft) and 20% silk. The combined softness of these two luxury fibers makes a very strong lustrous yarn. The subtle sheen reminded me of another luxury---pearls. Strong, soft, subtle sheen and a joy to work with!
