Barstow is a worsted spun, fingering weight yarn made with Dorset wool grown in NY & spun in PA. Barstow is great for socks if you don’t mind a gentle wash & air drying but also makes gorgeous hard wearing garments. The 4 ply structure gives the yarn plenty of strength, especially when worked densely. The wool has not been superwashed which will allow lots of breathability, this yarn fulfills a dream of mine to make a classic all wool sock yarn. Barstow is named for Hudson River School painter & avid hiker Susie Barstow who I like to think would appreciate a sturdy wool sock yarn.
Hand wash in cool water & lay flat to dry for the longest wearing garment.
