Recently, a new 100% natural fiber has been created, made from the shells of various crustaceans.
Recycling waste from the food industry, a substance called “chitin” is extracted from the carapace (or upper layer) of a crustacean’s shell. The chitin is then mixed with cellulose in a uniform solution and later spun into the fiber Crabyon!

Crabyon, possesses a series of incredible wellness and ecological properties such as:

• Hemostatic (stops bleeding)

• Hypoallergenic
• Cooling (highly moisture absorbent)
• Biocompatible

When Crabyon is combined with natural fibers such as cotton, it allows for a new generation of “natural antibacterial” yarns and fabrics. These properties have been thoroughly tested and verified in the field of fashion and sanitary textiles.
