This yarn is made of 8 plies of 20-22Denier reeled mulberry silk threads (direct from the cocoon)

This yarn is soft to the touch yet feels raw & crisp, as a silk filament is triangular in shape. It is light & airy, but slightly rough to the touch. As the yarn is minimally processed, it has a very organic feel.

Ideal for lace hand knitting (such as the Leftover Laceweight Fern Lace Scarf) and crocheting projects as well as being usable in cross-stitch and fine embroidery projects as the plies easily separate.
