BFL DK
100% Superwash British Bluefaced Leicester; DK
4-ply
246 yards to 100 grams
$30 ($26 Signature Solids and Lucky Strike colorways)
21–24 sts/four inches in stockinette on size 5-7 needle (3.75-4.5 mm)
This is the most barnyard-y yarn I offer. It smells like it comes from a sheep (in all the right ways, mind you), it looks like it comes from a sheep (it’s slightly creamier in color, which provides a natural warm undertone), it feels like it comes from a sheep. If it could speak, it would sound like a sheep. It’s rustic, hearty, and “unrefined”. Though it is Superwash treated, it retains it’s earthy character. The BFL gives it a bit of luster and plenty of strength. A great yarn for all walks of knitting projects in the DK-weight range. Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon a few bits of hay in the fibers as you knit. It’s been known to happen and, in my professional opinion, is a bit of a treat. (BFL DK is my favorite for thicker socks!)
