Aran
A blend of superfine alpaca for softness and Peruvian highland wool for strength, this soft and robust yarn is perfect as a soft replacement for more traditional wools.
Artesano aran yarn is perfect for cables, intarsia, fair isle, crochet and felting - just think of anywhere that you would traditonally use an aran wool or yarn and you can replace it with Artesano aran. Just make sure to do a tension square before you begin.
Our melanges (e.g. pine, ash, ochre, rosewood) are blends of colours that have a soft look like a traditonal heathered aran. The solid colours such as royal blue, deep green and deep teal are great for jumpers and cardigans. The brights such as lomand and wester are ideal for fair isle and intarsia aran knitting.
