I love the definition tween. A word for the kids who are too young to be called teenagers, but already acting like ones. My own tween wanted a sweater for the summer: it needed to be white, short but long enough, kind of loose, not hot, ¾ sleeves but not too long, soft yarn not itchy, and the neck should be open, maybe a bit like boat neck, but...

The reason behind the name is magic number 10 in the pattern (10 or two times 10 or three times 10 or 10+1). It makes the pattern very easy to memorize and a great for those carry-around-projects.
