Valentine’s Collection of four patterns. All of these patterns can be used at any time of year, but just happen to have heart features or themes which fit with Valentine’s Day.
Pattern number one is the Nicki Cushion, knitted using two balls of Debbie Bliss Cathay yarn in stocking stitch, with a moss stitch border and a garter stitch heart motif. The cushion is backed with Liberty fabric, but you could use another fabric, or even knit a plain back.
Pattern number two is a Lavender Heart hanging decoration knitted using oddments of Rowan All Seasons Cotton, and backed with fabric and stuffed with lavender and stuffing. I use organic sheeps stuffing from Myriad toys.
Pattern number three is a hot water bottle - my signature product. This one is in 4 ply, which is quite unusual. The original was knitted in RYC cotton cashmere 4 ply, which is now discontinued (you might be able to find some online), but Sublime Merino Cashmere 4 ply will work equally well. There is a heart motif, which is knitted using the Intarsia technique. You only need one ball og 4 ply and oddments in the contrasting colour. The pattern is for a one litre hot water bottle (smaller size).
Pattern number four is a knitted rose. This is a spectacular pattern producing amazing results for those who have the patience and the attention to detail it requires. There are some secret ingredients, which you will learn about when you buy the pattern, which keep the rose sturdy and staying upright in the vase. The pattern uses Manos Serena yarn, which is a delightful yarn 60% baby alpaca and 40% cotton.
