This Collection brings together four patterns, all based on the same cable design.

The original pattern was for the hot water bottle, and originated when I was staying at my sister’s house several years ago, and her flatmate, Emily, lent me a hot water bottle to keep me warm. It didn’t have a cover, so I set about designing one for Emily and I sent it to her as a present.

I sold the design as a knitting pattern for a while, then I knitted some up for sale on my old website LibbyTDesigns, which specialised in ready made hand knits, adapting and improving the pattern.

I was then asked to adapt the pattern further for inclusion as a KnitCrate package, and this led to more covers being knitted in more colours. In the meantime, I had made a reversible tea cosy pattern, which sold really well as a ready made design, and later as a pattern in The Artesano Aran Tea Cosy Collection.

Meanwhile, a cold winter had led to the pattern being adapted as a scarf for sale as a ready made knit, inspired by the bright colours of the Artesano Aran yarn.

The next year, the pattern was turned into a snood, and these sold out more or less straight away.

I have finally brought all four patterns together in one collection. This is the first release of the scarf and snood patterns.
