Perfectly portable projects: in this issue of Knitting we’re looking forward to summer holidays and other travels with some quick-knit, perfectly portable projects. Whether you’ve got a single beautiful hank of yarn you’ve been dying to use for something really special, or you’re having a spring clean and want to knit up some of that lovely stash yarn, you’ll find plenty of inspiration in these pages.
We’re so excited to welcome legendary designer Erika Knight and her daughter Arabella Harris. The pair, who work together as Knight Kraft on a range of projects from knitting and yarn design to content creation, will be writing a regular column starting in this issue, sharing their Notes from the Studio. To celebrate we’re also featuring a beautiful pattern by Erika, a summery vest top with a nature-inspired intarsia motif.
We also meet Brighton-based hand dyer Ce Persiano of The Uncommon Thread, ask whether it can ever be rude to knit and investigate the latest hot trend: assigned pooling. And if it takes your fancy, why not try it out? We introduce the basics in our Pooling Yarns Workshop supplement, free with this issue.
