Ollie the Oarfish had been swimming around wondering what today had in store for him. The past few weeks had been quite rough. His brother had mysteriously disappeared after he was last seen chasing a shiny fish on a string, His best friend Octopus had decided that he no longer wanted to talk to him after they’d had an argument about whether sloth bears are sloths or bears, and just this morning he had been stung by an electric eel. It looked like it was going to be one of those months. As he swam towards work at the reef he saw Nora the Narwhal. He stopped dead in his swim. His little heart started to race and he could feel all his oars shake. She was soooo dreamy. He had always wanted to talk to her and take her out for a swim but he just never had the courage to ask her. She was simply too beautiful to be interested in somefish so boring.

“Hi Ollie!” Nora said as she passed him.

Had she really acknowledged him?Maybe she was talking to somefish else? I must be hearing things. Before he had a chance to ask her she had swum away and he was unknowingly swimming towards work. Maybe things were on the upswing. With a new found spring in his oar, Ollie finished his trek to work.
