It all started with one skein of yarn in colours that made me think of Ireland right away. Thing is, I fell in love with Ireland the first time I went there on holidays and there are so many things that make me smile, that I find charming, that are so unique in Ireland. So of course I had to get some of the yarn to play with and the moment it arrived here, I started to knit it up. And it gave me ideas - so many, that a complete collection of ten sock patterns came to life.

Even though I found my inspiration for all patterns in Ireland, the patterns are by no means influenced only by the Irish knitting traditions with lots of cables and texture. The collection does include cables and textures, but it covers all kind of techniques - slipped stitches, illusion knitting, stranded colourwork or lace, there are even beaded socks - and each pattern tells a story about something that means Irish to me.

I hope you’ll enjoy knitting the patterns just as much as I enjoyed designing them.
