Collaboration between Karida Collins (Neighborhood Fiber Co.) and Ann Weaver (Weaverknits) began two years ago over a few drinks in Alexandria, VA. These two urban ladies share a love of rich, saturated color and clean, geometric design. Their friendship resulted in a monthly yarn and pattern club, which they expanded to create this book.
Cityscapes showcases the different Neighborhood Fiber Co. yarns and colors in accessories meant to inspire color and fiber experimentation. The projects range in difficulty from beginner to intermediate, introducing skills like working a square shawl from the inside out, eyelet patterns, simple charts, braids, stranded knitting with up to three colors at a time, and short rows—all in projects that are small and portable.
Karida only dyes yarns that she wants to knit: silks, mohairs, and Merinos from laceweight to worsted in the vibrant colors for which Neighborhood Fiber Co. is known. Ann finds inspiration for bold designs in all these yarns and colors.
We love these designs, and hope you do, too!
Cityscapes is also available as an ebook/print book combination through Neighborhood Fiber Co. and Weaverknits for $12. Interested? Visit Neighborhood Fiber Co. to order, and you’ll receive a coupon code to add the pattern to your Ravelry library in additon to the print book.
