Zufall
So-called “mistake rib” is a simple variation of 2x2 ribbing that yields a deeply squishy fabric, perfect for winter accessories. Using one skein of self-striping yarn, this quick, fun project makes a perfect gift. Every skein of Crazy is unique! Just knit away and let the colors shift on their own, or feel free to break the yarn and wind off a bit if you want to reach your next color change sooner. This pattern, as written, uses about 3⁄4 of a skein, so you have some leeway. And one note about fit: “Zufall” is designed to fit most snugly. You can make your cowl larger or smaller by casting on more or fewer stitches; just be sure you begin with a multiple of 4.
